'Extensive destruction of property - IAC' in document 'Georgia - Law amending Criminal Code'

RELEVANT SECTIONS OF THE IMPLEMENTING LEGISLATION

Article 1. The Criminal Code of Georgia ("saqartvelos sakanonmdeblo macne"1) No. 41(48), 1999) shall be amended as follows:

7. Article 411:

b) Subparagraph ā€jā€ of paragraph 1 of article 411 shall be drafted as follows:

ā€j) Attack on property of hostile party, including any historic monument, pieces of art, a sacred place as on the part of the cultural heritage of peoples, which resulted in destruction and appropriation of property, provided not justified by military necessity; Shall be punished by the imprisonment for a period from ten to fifteen years.ā€

War crimes
2. For the purpose of this Statute, "war crimes" means:
(a) Grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions of 12 August 1949, namely, any of the following acts against persons or property protected under the provisions of the relevant Geneva Convention:
(iv) Extensive destruction and appropriation of property, not justified by military necessity and carried out unlawfully and wantonly
