Article 1. The Criminal Code of Georgia ("saqartvelos sakanonmdeblo macne"1) No. 41(48), 1999) shall be amended as follows:
7. Article 411:
b) Subparagraph ājā of paragraph 1 of article 411 shall be drafted as follows:
āj) Attack on property of hostile party, including any historic monument, pieces of art, a sacred place as on the part of the cultural heritage of peoples, which resulted in destruction and appropriation of property, provided not justified by military necessity; Shall be punished by the imprisonment for a period from ten to fifteen years.ā
Article 8
War crimes
2. For the purpose of this Statute, "war crimes" means:
(b) Other serious violations of the laws and customs applicable in international armed conflict, within the established framework of international law, namely, any of the following acts:
(ix) Intentionally directing attacks against buildings dedicated to religion, education, art, science or charitable purposes, historic monuments, hospitals and places where the sick and wounded are collected, provided they are not military objectives
