3. Genocide.

(2) A person guilty of an offence of genocide shall on conviction on indictment

(a) if the offence consists of the killing of any person, be sentenced to imprisonment for life ;

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as
