Chapter 5
Supplementary rules and instructions and the entry into force of the Act

Section 30
Entry into force

This Act shall enter into force on the 15th day of January 1994.

Nothing in this Act shall prevent Finnish authorities from affording international assistance in criminal matters pursuant to other treaties or other arrangements to which Finland is or becomes a Party, nor under any other provisions of Finnish law relating to the subject matter of this Act.

The provisions in this Act shall not affect the transmission of requests between Finnish authorities and the authorities of a foreign State through the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) or through diplomatic channels.

RELEVANT ROME STATUTE PROVISIONS

Article 126
Entry into force
1. This Statute shall enter into force on the first day of the month after the 60th day following the date of the deposit of the 60th instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession with the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
2. For each State ratifying, accepting, approving or acceding to this Statute after the deposit of the 60th instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession, the Statute shall enter into force on the first day of the month after the 60th day following the deposit by such State of its instrument of ratification, acceptance, approval or accession.
