108. Special pleas allowed to be pleaded.

(1) The following special pleas, and no others, may be pleaded according to the provisions hereinafter contained, that is to say, a plea of autrefois acquit, a plea of autrefois convict, a plea of pardon, and in cases of defamatory libel the plea hereinafter mentioned.

144. Pleading and refusal to plead.

(1) When the accused person is called upon to plead, he may plead either guilty or not guilty, or the special pleas hereinbefore mentioned.

146. Recording plea.

Every plea shall be entered by the Registrar on the back of the indictment or on a sheet of paper annexed thereto.
